I was dissatisfied with the last try, so I completel redid it. This one's much closer to my mental image, I think.
Just consider his crystals to be glowing, because I am NOT shading all of those tonight!

Spacegodzilla is an extension of Biollante, in a manner. Where Biollante's form reconfigured, a number of cells escaped into space, where they developed into a being all their own. A gojirian creature, it was dependant on nuclear energy, yet none was available of the type the beast needed. Thusly, it began to turn to alternative power sources. Cosmic rays sustained the beast, for the most part. However, these rays, depsite sustaining its body, were also toxic to it. The being's body was forced to warp, crystalizing pieces of itself to contain and expell the toxic energies.
For years, the being roamed space, siphoning energy from the stars around it. That is, until it eventually drifted back into Earth's reach. The being could sense a power unlike any it had known. Atomic power, the very energy that was originally responsible for its creation. The beast rushed to Earth to consume this energy. By that point, it was more crystal than flesh, and could barely move on its own. However, upon absorbing the energies it needed, the beast - dubbed 'Spacegodzilla' by humanity - was able to ease its pain, reducing the drama that the crystals posed. After rading a nuclear power plant, it attained a more animal-like form.
However, Spacegodzilla quickly realized he was not alone in his desire for nuclear energy...
Spacegodzilla is a living dynamo of power, almost all of it stored in the crystals that cover his body. He constantly absorbs energies besides those that are atomic in nature, as he requires an enormous amount of power just to stay alive. This energy is processed, and the remains - the energies that are toxic to him - are channeled into his crystals and expelled. He does this almost constantly, but is able to focus the energy expulsion into a concentrated cone of visible plasma, a swirling cone of pure destruction. The power of this 'corona beam', as it was nicknamed, is directly proportional to the amount of energy inside him.
Spacegodzilla, like his brother, is a ferral and savage monster. While he posesses powerful ranged weaponry, he doesn't rely on it. Instead, he satisfies his animal instincts in combat, invariably advancing to sink his fangs into enemy flesh.
Unlike his brother, however, Spacegodzilla is far from stable. He cannot properly register his environment, and percieves danger oddly. He may indiscriminantly lash out at anything around him, or may cluelessly ignore everything around him, even if he's being attacked. Indeed, the only thing that remains constant in his mind is his lust for nuclear energy. If he's allowed to have his way, Spacegodzilla will slay his brother and ensure that the nuclear energy of the world is solely his.

Lemme try to explain my reasoning behind such a radical overhaul.
Spacegodzilla is supposed to be two things.
1. A mutation derived from G-cells.
2. A dark twin of Godzilla.
This means that Spacegodzilla would resemble Godzilla, yes, but also be visibly deformed and mutated. In this way, I tried to blend Godzilla's body with Krystalak's. I took Godzilla's face and added SG's traditional warped teeth and crest(if customized them a bit).
I dislike Spacegodzilla's shoulder crystals because he's supposed to be an anti-Godzilla, almost. Godzilla's power source is his dorsal spines, so logically, his dark brother's would be a warped variation of those spines. He's also a partially crystaline being, so logically, we have mutated crystaline spines.
I warped the body because he's a mutation, but I also tried to preserve what defined Godzilla's form. Godzilla's an animalistic monster, and one that's not afraid to get up close and personal. I couldn't imagine something that's supposed to be an extension of him - even if it's his dark twin - to be any different. Spacegodzilla would be an energy dynamo, yes, but he wouldn't depend on it. Thats not how Godzilla works, and it's not how his cosmic brother works.
Frankly, I consider a slightly thinner, leaner, yet equally strong beast without those silly shoulder cystals to be FAR more menacing and likeable than that fat-assed pansy from the film.
For him as a character, I had to consider one thing: Godzilla is decidedly neutral. What's the opposite of neutral? Still neutral. So, Godzilla's dark twin would be neutral, like him, but darker, more twisted, and more insane. That's Spacegodzilla.
Frankly, I'm quite proud of it. Criticize if you wish, but this is what I think Spacegodzilla should be.

I Bloody Hate Spacegodzilla. I think that's something we need to consider.
If it doesn't look like the original, then that's a good thing. Personally, I'm satisfied with it, because it still looks like a Godzilla-oriented mutation, partially centered around crystals.
My opinion on this one's the same as the first. The art is great and it looks cool as hell, but it's too major a redesign. This one looks slightly more like SG, but I think that if you showed this to a group of people without the name, most of them wouldn't recognize it as Space Godzilla. Sounds like that's probably what you wanted, but I'm just giving my two cents.

I wouldn't mind if it still had the 2 big main crystals, but overall this is grand ^_^
